Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora

Your 4-day Sahara journey begins with an early departure from Marrakech, crossing the scenic High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. The winding road offers breathtaking views of isolated Berber villages and mountainous landscapes. The first major stop is the world-famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-protected ksar and filming site for movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. After visiting the kasbah, the tour continues to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa.

From here, we drive through the peaceful town of Agdz and enter the spectacular Draa Valley, the longest palm valley in Morocco. With hundreds of thousands of palm trees, ksours, and ancient caravan routes, this region is a treasure of natural beauty. In the late afternoon, we reach Zagora, where you will spend the night in a comfortable hotel or riad overlooking the palm oasis.

Day 2: Zagora – Tamegroute – M’hamid – First Night in the Desert

After breakfast, we continue toward the desert, stopping in Tamegroute, a village known for its ancient Quranic library, pottery workshops, and underground kasbah. Then we reach M’hamid, the last village before the Sahara sand begins.

Here your adventure becomes more immersive: enjoy a camel trek through the small dunes near M’hamid and observe the transition from village life to complete desert silence. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp where you’ll enjoy mint tea, dinner, and Berber music under a sky full of stars.

Day 3: M’hamid – Off-Road to Chegaga Dunes – Nomadic Experience

This day is dedicated entirely to the Chegaga Desert experience. After breakfast, we leave the paved road for a 2–3 hour off-road drive deep into the Sahara. You’ll cross rocky plains, tamarisk trees, and fossil areas before reaching the impressive Erg Chegaga, where dunes rise up to 300 meters.

Upon arrival, settle into your camp and enjoy tea with nomads who live in the desert. In the afternoon, take a breathtaking sunset camel ride across the dunes. The peaceful atmosphere, golden colors, and vast open space make Chegaga one of the most impressive deserts in Morocco.

After dinner, enjoy traditional drumming around the fire and admire the Milky Way before sleeping in a comfortable or luxury tent.

Day 4: Chegaga – Iriqui National Park – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the Chegaga dunes. After breakfast, we begin an adventurous drive through the Iriqui National Park, a protected desert area rich in fossils and wildlife. We stop at the dry Lake Iriqui before reaching Foum Zguid, a small desert town where the off-road track reconnects with the paved road.

After lunch in Taznakht, famous for its beautiful handmade Berber carpets, we continue the drive through the Atlas Mountains until we reach Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening. End of the tour.
