Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert

Your adventure begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We start our journey by crossing the High Atlas Mountains, driving through dramatic landscapes, Berber villages, and panoramic viewpoints along the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). This stretch is a photographer’s paradise and a highlight of any Morocco desert tour.

Our first major stop is the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most iconic ksars in Morocco. You will have time to explore its narrow alleys, mud-brick architecture, and historical corners, known as the filming location of movies such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones. After a guided visit, enjoy a relaxing lunch in one of the panoramic restaurants overlooking the kasbah.

We then continue to Ouarzazate, the “gateway to the Sahara,” before heading south toward the breathtaking Draa Valley, the longest palm valley in Morocco. Passing through Agdz and several traditional Berber villages, you’ll admire an endless oasis of palm trees, ksours, and ancient caravan routes. In the afternoon, we arrive in Zagora Desert, where your camels will be waiting for a magical sunset camel trek across the dunes.

After arriving at your traditional Berber camp, enjoy mint tea, dinner, and local music under a sky full of stars. Overnight in a comfortable desert tent.

Day 2: Zagora Desert – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness a serene Sahara sunrise, one of the most breathtaking moments of the tour. After breakfast in the camp, enjoy a short camel ride back to the vehicle, and begin the journey through the Draa Valley and Ouarzazate.

We will have time for a coffee break or optional visit to Taourirt Kasbah or the Cinema Studios before crossing the High Atlas Mountains again on our way back to Marrakech. Arrival at your hotel or riad in the early evening.
